Berghaus

Berghaus, UK’s top outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment brand, has signed a new distribution agreement with Eccezione Company in Taiwan in 2009. The new three year agreement will lead to Berghaus products being sold through Hilltop, Eccezione’s outdoor and travel chain of stores, and distributed to other specialist outdoor retailers in Taiwan. Eccezione will introduce Berghaus branded areas into Hilltop and will also develop a shop-in-shop programme for Taiwan and open a flagship store.

Marc Greene, then Senior Advisor of Pentland Group, said, ‘Pentland aims to find "World Class Partners" for our brands within different regions around the World - an OMIS report is a cost effective way to uncover relevant potential partners.’

‘The OMIS report provided by UKTI Team in Taiwan contained a list of key organisations within Taiwan. We were also provided with comprehensive profiles of these organisations which meant that evaluating them was all the more easier. We also benefitted from regular updates as to the progress of the report and felt that the team in Taiwan were always genuinely engaged and interested in the work they were doing for us. The report also contained useful tips on doing business in Taiwan, which for an organisation well aware of cultural differences, proved extremely useful.’

‘Due to the excellent OMIS work, network and support, we were able to sign a new 3 year distribution agreement in Taiwan for this brand, with product due in store in early 2010. This is a fantastic result for the business.’ ‘The service was first rate throughout.’

‘The UKTI team in Taipei always went the extra mile to obtain key information and to answer our numerous questions. The quality of the contacts that they provided was very high. We continue to stay in touch with the team and look forward to exploring more opportunities for our brands in the near future.’ ‘Overall, a thoroughly positive experience.’ Marc Greene added.
